Overview
The Bambu Lab P2S is an enclosed CoreXY printer with a 256 x 256 x 256 mm build volume, 600 mm/s top speed and a hardened steel 300 °C hot end. It replaces the P1S in Bambu's lineup with a 110 °C bed, a 5-inch touchscreen and support for up to 20 colors with AMS units.
What it is
The Bambu Lab P2S is an enclosed CoreXY 3D printer with a 256 x 256 x 256 mm build volume. Bambu's US store sells it on its own or as the P2S Combo with an AMS 2 Pro multi-color unit; this page covers the printer on its own. Bambu calls it "The Classic Evolves" and says it is built on the best-selling P1S, so it is the natural replacement for our Bambu Lab P1S page. The P1S has not gone away, though: on October 30, 2026 it was still listed on the same store from $349, and the P2S store FAQ says there are no plans to stop selling it for now.
Going by the two official spec sheets, the P2S raises top speed from 500 to 600 mm/s and the bed limit from 100 to 110 °C, while acceleration stays at 20,000 mm/s² and the build volume is unchanged. The P1S's stainless steel nozzle becomes a hardened steel nozzle with hardened steel gears. The 2.7-inch button screen gives way to a 5-inch touchscreen, and the camera goes from 1280 x 720 at 0.5 fps to 1920 x 1080 at 30 fps.
Key specs that matter
From Bambu's official P2S spec sheet:
- Build volume: 256 x 256 x 256 mm in a plastic and steel chassis with a plastic and glass shell.
- Motion: up to 600 mm/s and 20,000 mm/s², with a rated maximum hot end flow of 40 mm³/s.
- Hot end: hardened steel nozzle and extruder gear, up to 300 °C, 0.4 mm nozzle included, with 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8 mm supported. A permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) servo motor drives the extruder.
- Bed: flexible steel plate with a textured PEI surface, up to 110 °C.
- Chamber: fully enclosed with an activated carbon filter. There is no active chamber heater; a flap switches airflow between internal and external circulation.
- Materials: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PET, PA, PC and PVA, plus fiber-filled grades such as PLA-CF, PETG-CF, ABS-GF, PA6-CF and PPA-CF.
- Electronics: 5-inch 854 x 480 touchscreen, 8 GB eMMC with a USB port, dual-band Wi-Fi and a 2 TOPS neural processing unit for AI error detection.
Who it suits
The P2S suits hobbyists and small studios who print PLA and PETG most days but also want ABS, ASA, nylon or carbon fiber parts without swapping hardware first. Bambu's store positions it for small studios and semi-professional work. For multi-color printing, the store FAQ says it can connect up to four AMS 2 Pro and four AMS HT units, 20 slots in total, for up to 20 colors. It is also a fit for P1S owners who want a touchscreen, a smoother live camera and fiber-filled filaments out of the box.
What to know before buying
At the time of writing (October 2026), the P2S was $449 on Bambu's US store, down from a typical price of $549, and the P2S Combo with AMS 2 Pro was $649 (typical $749). That is $100 more than the P1S for the printer alone.
The chamber is passive: Bambu's "50°C Chamber Ready" headline refers to heat held in by a flap-controlled airflow system, and its FAQ confirms there is no active chamber heating, so if you print a lot of ABS, ASA or nylon at large sizes, compare the Bambu Lab X2D, which heats its chamber to 65 °C, or the Prusa CORE One, which Prusa lists with active chamber heating to 55 °C but a 290 °C nozzle limit.
The AMS 2 Pro can dry filament, but Bambu says drying while a print is running needs an official power adapter that is not included in the Combo. If you only print PLA and PETG and want to save money, the P1S remains a valid choice. More enclosed options are on our best enclosed 3D printers page.

Pros and cons
Pros
- The hardened steel nozzle and extruder gear let it print carbon and glass fiber filaments without any hardware upgrade.
- A 5-inch touchscreen replaces the P1S's small button screen, so more setup can happen on the printer itself.
- The 1080p camera at 30 fps gives smooth remote monitoring, a big step up from the P1S's 0.5 fps camera.
- Top speed rises to 600 mm/s and the bed reaches 110 °C, both higher than the P1S on paper.
- Bambu's FAQ says it can run up to eight AMS units with 20 slots for up to 20-color prints.
- The activated carbon filter and enclosure make ABS and ASA practical, and Bambu lists PA and PC as supported.
Cons
- There is no active chamber heater, so large nylon or ABS parts lack the heat control of the X2D or CORE One.
- At $449 on sale it costs $100 more than the P1S, which Bambu still sells alongside it.
- There is no Ethernet port; network control is dual-band Wi-Fi only according to the spec sheet.
- Drying filament in the AMS 2 Pro during a print needs a separate official power adapter that the Combo does not include.
- The build volume stays at 256 x 256 x 256 mm, so it is no larger than the P1S it replaces.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Bambu Lab P2S replacing the P1S?
Bambu markets the P2S as the evolution of the P1S, but both were on sale on its US store on 2026-10-30. The P2S store FAQ says there are no plans to stop selling the P1S at the moment.
Can the P2S print carbon fiber filament?
Yes. Bambu's spec sheet lists a hardened steel nozzle and extruder gear and names fiber-filled materials such as PLA-CF, PETG-CF, ABS-GF and PA6-CF as supported.
Does the P2S have a heated chamber?
No. Bambu's FAQ says the P2S has no active chamber heating. It regulates chamber temperature with its enclosure and an automatic flap that switches between internal and external air circulation. The store's "50°C Chamber Ready" headline refers to this heat retention, not to a heater.
How many colors can the P2S print?
Up to 20, according to Bambu's store FAQ. It supports up to four AMS 2 Pro and four AMS HT units, 20 slots in total. The P2S Combo includes one AMS 2 Pro.
Does the P2S work with third-party slicers and filament?
It uses standard 1.75 mm filament, and Bambu's spec sheet says third-party slicers that export standard G-code, such as PrusaSlicer, SuperSlicer and Cura, are supported, though some advanced features may not be.

Verdict
Buy the P2S if you want an enclosed, fiber-ready Bambu printer with a touchscreen and smooth camera at a mid-range price. Look at the X2D or Prusa CORE One instead if you need active chamber heating, or the P1S if you only print PLA and PETG and want to spend less.
