Overview

The Bambu Lab H2D is a large enclosed dual-nozzle printer with up to 325 x 320 x 325 mm single-nozzle volume, 350 °C hot ends, a 120 °C bed and 65 °C active chamber heating. Laser and cutting modules can turn it into an all-in-one workshop tool.

What it is

The Bambu Lab H2D is Bambu's large-format, enclosed, dual-nozzle 3D printer. Two hot ends let it print two materials or colors in one job with less purging than a single-nozzle printer, and it adds active chamber heating for engineering filaments. Bambu also sells laser and cutting modules for it, which turns the same frame into a laser engraver, cutter and plotter. This listing covers the base H2D, which ships without an AMS. Bambu sells AMS Combo and Laser Full Combo bundles separately.

Key specs that matter

  • Build volume: 325 x 320 x 325 mm with a single nozzle, 300 x 320 x 320 mm when printing with both nozzles, and 350 x 320 x 320 mm as the total area the two nozzles can reach.
  • Motion: up to 1000 mm/s toolhead speed and 20,000 mm/s² acceleration.
  • Hot ends: hardened steel nozzles up to 350 °C, standard 40 mm³/s flow with an optional 65 mm³/s high-flow hot end.
  • Bed: up to 120 °C, textured or smooth PEI.
  • Chamber: active heating up to 65 °C, with G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA and activated carbon filtration.
  • Materials: PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA, ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET, PPS and carbon or glass fiber blends including PPA-CF/GF and PPS-CF/GF.
  • Cameras and sensors: live view, nozzle and toolhead cameras at 1080p, door, run-out and tangle sensors, and power loss recovery.
  • Electronics: 5-inch 720 x 1280 touchscreen, 8 GB eMMC with USB port, dual-band Wi-Fi.
  • Size: 492 x 514 x 626 mm, 31 kg, up to 1320 W at 110 V.

Who it suits

The H2D suits small businesses, engineers and serious makers who print large parts, engineering polymers such as PA, PC and PPS, or functional parts that pair a model material with a dedicated support material. The second nozzle reduces waste and time on two-material prints. Buyers who also want laser engraving or vinyl cutting can add those modules instead of buying separate machines.

What to know before buying

The H2D is big and heavy at 31 kg and 626 mm tall, so it needs a sturdy bench. Bambu lists a 1320 W maximum draw on 110 V circuits, and Bambu notes the printer holds maximum power for no more than 3 minutes while the bed heats, so avoid sharing a circuit with other high-draw tools during warm-up.

The base model has no AMS. Multi-color printing beyond two filaments requires the AMS Combo ($1,599 on sale) or a separately bought AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT. The laser modules are rated Class 4 on their own and Class 1 only when the printer's protection is complete and working, so follow Bambu's safety guidance and ventilate fumes through the 100 mm duct adapter.

Bambu Studio and Bambu Suite are the primary software, and Bambu says third-party slicers that export standard G-code also work with some advanced features missing. Linux is not listed as a supported OS for the H2D software.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Two nozzles let it print two materials or colors per job with less purge waste than a single-nozzle printer.
  • Active chamber heating to 65 °C plus 350 °C hot ends support PA, PC, PPS and fiber-reinforced engineering filaments.
  • The single-nozzle build volume of 325 x 320 x 325 mm is much larger than Bambu's 256 mm printers.
  • Bambu lists a 1000 mm/s top speed and 20,000 mm/s² acceleration for the toolhead.
  • Optional 10 W or 40 W laser and cutting modules add engraving, cutting and plotting to the same machine.
  • Filtration includes a G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter and activated carbon for particles and odors.

Cons

  • The base H2D ships without an AMS, so multi-color beyond two filaments costs extra.
  • At 31 kg and 492 x 514 x 626 mm, it needs a large, sturdy bench.
  • Maximum power draw reaches 1320 W on 110 V circuits, which limits where it can share an outlet.
  • Printing with both nozzles reduces the usable volume to 300 x 320 x 320 mm.
  • The laser module is Class 4 on its own, so safe use depends on the enclosure protections and ventilation.
  • At $1,399 on sale for the base unit, it costs about four times as much as the P1S.

Frequently asked questions

Does the base H2D include an AMS?

No. The 'H2D / standard' on Bambu's US store ships without an AMS. The H2D AMS Combo, $1,599 on sale on 2026-10-28, adds the AMS 2 Pro.

What is the H2D's build volume?

Bambu lists 325 x 320 x 325 mm for single-nozzle printing, 300 x 320 x 320 mm for dual-nozzle printing, and 350 x 320 x 320 mm as the total area both nozzles can reach.

Can the H2D print nylon, polycarbonate and carbon fiber?

Yes. Bambu's official spec page lists PA, PC, PPS and carbon or glass fiber reinforced filaments, supported by hardened steel 350 °C nozzles, a 120 °C bed and active chamber heating to 65 °C.

Can the H2D laser engrave?

With the Laser Edition or the Laser Upgrade Kit, yes. Bambu offers 10 W and 40 W semiconductor laser modules, with up to 1000 mm/s engraving speed and up to 15 mm basswood plywood cutting on the 40 W module.

Does the H2D work with third-party slicers and filament?

Bambu says third-party slicers that export standard G-code, such as PrusaSlicer and Cura, are supported with some advanced features missing. Standard 1.75 mm filament is used.

Verdict

Buy the H2D if you need a large heated-chamber printer for engineering materials, want dual-nozzle printing, or plan to use the laser and cutting modules. Look at the X2D or P2S if your parts fit in 256 mm and you do not need 350 °C or the laser features.
